SM Sultan Sharif Ali visits to OGDC

36 students accompanied by 2 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Sultan Sharif Ali had an educational visit to OGDC.

Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by Janet Nuramalina binti Abdullah Shak, the Head of Education and Programmes, Pg. Alias bin PDP Hj. Hidup, the Head of Maintenance and Exhibits and Change Yew En, the Education Supervisor of OGDC.

After the welcoming, the group was led to the Exhibition Hall by Mr. Chang. Inside the Exhibition Hall, the group was given a safety briefing before they proceed for the tour inside the Exhibition Hall. The students and teachers were given a tour on the 'Highlights' of the Exhibition Hall, which includes: the Bed of Nails, Earthquake House, Human Gyroscope, Tesla Coil, Finger Tingler and the Mind Ball.

After the tour, the students were allowed to roam free inside the Exhibition Hall to explore more on the world of science and technology as well as the oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam. The students were then able to try every exhibit available in the Exhibition Hall where they were able to have fun and at the same time learn something.

Finally, the group had a group photo in front of the OGDC Fountain before having their lunch at the Ideal Cafe.

20 lectures along with 119 under-graduates from Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan Negara Brunei Darussalam went to OGDC for an educational visit. The visit was one of the activities for the Educational Intellectual Development Programme for the Final Year Undergraduates of 2006-2009 sessions, under Sijil Latihan Perguruan Ugama course. One of the objectives of the visit was to expose the undergraduates to gain general knowledge and more information from the educational visit.

The group arrived in OGDC at about 9.00am and were warmly welcomed by Md. Aiman Yusra bin Md. Yusof, one of the Education Team members. The visiting group was divided into two groups: the ladies group and the gents group. The ladies group was led to the Exhibition Hall first by the Exhibition Hall Facilitators: Hazean Nuruliqma binti Md. Azrin, Halimahtul Sa'diah binti Hj. Awg. Nordin, Sharon Martine, Ruth Tabba Anak Walter Undom and Azrina binti Hidup. Then followed by the gents group, led by Allen Justine, Md. Suhardy bin Hj. Hambali and Md. Aiman Yusra bin Md. Yusof.

Once they enter the Exhibition Hall, the groups were given a safety briefing by Nurthesa binti K. Salim, the Administration Assistant. In the Exhibition Hall, the groups were exposed to the general information on the history as well as the development of oil and gas industry. Other than that, the group also had the chance to try out the interactive exhibits available in OGDC, which includes the Bed of Nails, Human Gyroscope, Tesla Coil, Finger Tingler, Pedal Generator, Plasma Tube, and the Mind Ball. The group really enjoyed their time while inside the Exhibition Hall and at the same time, they also could learn more on science and technology.

At the end of the visit, the group gathered together inside the OGDC Gallery building for a souvenirs exchange session between the Head of Visit and Roslan bin Hj. Abd. Rahman, the Head of OGDC. Later, the group had a photography session right in front of the Gallery building before going back to their institution.

SSBHKB pharmacy staffs in OGDC

About 20 members of staffs from the Pharmacy Department of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait, along with their family members had an educaational visit to OGDC. The purpose of the visit was as an effort to reach their goal of 100 hours of continuous education requirement.

The group arrived at about 2.30 in the afternoon. The group was gathered inside the Exhibition Hall, for a safety briefing given by Md Suhardy Hj Hambali, the Education Liaison. Right after the safety briefing, the group was then given a tour by Mr. Suhardy himself.

While inside the Exhibition Hall, not only the group was able to gain knowledge on the discovery of oil and gas in Brunei, but as well as science in general. With the help of the exhibits, they had learnt more than they had expected in OGDC.

The tour ended at around 4.00pm.

3rd School Leaders in Education Conference visit to OGDC

Madam Chong Li Chen, the principal of Pusat Tingkatan Enam Meragang, together with 21 international educators from the 3rd School Leaders in Education Conference went to OGDC for a visit. The educators came from various countries, including: Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, Germany, Maldives as well as Brunei Darussalam.

The group, led by Madam Chong Li Chen, arrived in OGDC at about 9.00am. The group was warmly welcomed by Roslan bin Haji Abd Rahman, the Head of OGDC, accompanied by most the staffs present on that day. After a brief introduction from Roslan, the group was then led to the OGDC Theatre for refreshment. Then they were entertained by Roslan with his presentation on Brunei Shell Petroleum Company and OGDC.

Right after the presentation, the group was then brought to the Exhibition Hall for a tour given by Mr. Chang Yew En, the OGDC Education Supervisor, Hazean Nuruliqma binti Md Azrin, Halimahtul Sa'diah binti Awg Nordin and Sharon Martin, the OGDC Exhibition Hall Facilitators. In the Exhibition Hall, the group was exposed to the general information regarding oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam as well as the interactive exhibits including the Bed of Nails, Earthquake House, Human Gyroscope and Mind Ball.

Subsequently, the group was brought to the Viewing Gallery to experience the 360 degrees view around OGDC, covering the Seria Town, Seria Shore and the recent oil-drilling project located just behind the OGDC compound. After enjoying the magnificent view, the group was brought to the Traffic Game Park to watch one of the practice sessions performed by the participating students.

Lastly, they had a group photo session in front of the OGDC Fountain before leaving for their lunch in BSRC.
